Calling ordinary phones with Nikotalkie and save up to 70%
Nikotalkie news By Nikolai Manek on 11/9/2007 6:12 PM

In case you missed the update in installer app… Today we released the 1.4.2 which adds next to address book access a very cool new feature our customers over at Nikotel (www.nikotel.com) use since quite a while on other platforms – nikotalk. Nikotalk is a feature which lets you connect two regular phones to place very inexpensive phone calls. This is important for people who do lots of international calling. Calling any landline phone in Germany (just a random example) from your iPhone in the USA cost only a little over 2 cents per minute while you would pay 9 cents with your AT&T plan (plus $3.95 a month fees).  This paid service is just an addition to your FREE Nikotalkie which is FREE and will be always FREE.. Oh.. to make the testing of these cheap calls to regular phones easy we applied ...

Never type again...
Nikotalkie news By Nikolai Manek on 10/30/2007 2:51 PM

Finally we did it, Nikotalkie now offers full address book access. You never have to type the name of your recipient or multiple recipients again. You simply pick one or many (UP TO 16!!!) recipients from the address book tab in Nikotalkie and your message is good to go. You can send to any email address or Nikotalkie user name. Starting in a few days our system will even automatically detect if someones email address is registered with Nikotalkie and then forwards your message to her Nikotalkie account. You don't have to think about it anymore. Just send to email addresses and your message will be received. With todays release (1.4.0) we have also fixed some issues with EDGE which did not always work reliable. Have fun with the newest Nikotalkie.

Nikotalkie news By Nikolai Manek on 10/17/2007 8:45 PM

As you know we are working very hard on bringing Nikotalkie to more platforms. Everyday thousands of iPhone users send little Nikotalkies back and forth. Everyday more than once we get mails with the question when Nikolkie will be available on other platforms. Well - here comes the next one. Nikotalkie is now part of Nikotels Communicator Suite. Communicator Suite? Yes, it is a platform integrating multiple tools for communication. Video chat, VoIP telephony, real time screen sharing and collaboration, XMPP instant messaging, triggering phone to phone calls, conference calls AND now Nikotalkie messages. Nikotel's communicator is a free tool as the iPhones Nikotalkie is free. In addition you can use for pay services like calling real phones at very low rates - BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO. (Even though it's worth checking it out;-)).

I hope the Nikotel Communicator will give you a good indication what you might see very soon on Macs;-) Stay tuned. We will also release some exciting new fe ...

Thank you Mr. Steve Jobs for your awesome decision!
Nikotalkie news By Nikolai Manek on 10/17/2007 9:54 AM

Today we got awesome news. Steve Jobs himself announced a third party SDK for the iPhone. YEAH! You can read more about it at: http://www.apple.com/hotnews/

Steve Jobs is pointing out some very important things. For Apple it is crucial to make sure third parties are known (using digital signatures) and the applications don't cause any negative side effects to the phone. They will provide a nice documented SDK which enables developers to provide applications which live up to Apples high quality standards. To us these are awesome news and our developers are dying to get their hands on it as fast as possible. Given the fact that such a decision enables us to put more resources into it (read: time+money) I can't wait to see what Nikotalkie can become on this awesome platform. As you can imagine we are huge iPhone fans and since we read Mr.Jobs announcement this morning we are looking ...

Nikotalkie is born.
Nikotalkie news By Nikolai Manek on 10/12/2007 11:39 PM

Many people have downloaded and tested Nikotalkie. How many? Well - thousands;-) But the really good news is that people don't only download and test it, but start using it as a daily tool to stay in touch. And that was exactly what we are trying to accomplish - connecting people in a new, exciting and very convinient way. Today we finalized the first iteration of our Nikotalkie software on the iPhone. You now can let it run in the background so you never miss a message again. We added Inbox,  quick reply, roaming settings (for EDGE) and other features. You can download it on our download page if you know how to manually install software on your iPhone. If not, I strongly recommend to wait 1 or 2 days till it shows up on your installer application of choice.

Since this late evening you will see also something new on our homepage. This little "nomima" box. What is that you might ask? Well - right now it is a little test. You can simply send a message to & ...
